CME Group Becomes First Jersey Patch Sponsor for Chicago White Sox
· Market News · QuoteReporter
CME Group, the world’s leading derivatives marketplace, has announced a landmark partnership with the Chicago White Sox, becoming the team’s first-ever jersey patch sponsor and Official Global Exchange Partner. This announcement, made on January 28, 2026, marks a significant collaboration between two iconic Chicago institutions, aiming to reach audiences on a global scale. The multiyear agreement will see the CME Group logo prominently displayed on the White Sox’s home, road, and alternate jerseys, including the MLB Nike City Connect uniform, for all Spring Training, regular, and postseason games.
The partnership extends beyond jersey branding, granting CME Group fixed signage behind home plate during home games at Rate Field and other promotional opportunities. Terry Duffy, CME Group Chairman and CEO, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, highlighting the shared values of grit, achievement, and perseverance between the two organizations. He emphasized that both the White Sox and CME Group are significant contributors to the Chicago community and have a global reach, appealing to diverse audiences worldwide. The partnership aims to deliver a compelling experience that enhances both brands and appeals to current and prospective clients.
Brooks Boyer, White Sox Chief Revenue and Marketing Officer, noted the importance of partnering with a Chicago-based company with a global presence. He highlighted the shared ambition, pride, and work ethic between the organizations, viewing the jersey patch as more than just branding but as a reinforcement of Chicago’s power both locally and globally.
The jersey design will feature the CME Group’s blue logo with variations in background and lettering colors to match the different uniforms. The home pinstripes will have the logo on a white background with black borders, while the road grays will feature a matching gray background. The MLB Nike City Connect and alternate black jerseys will display the logo on a black background with white lettering.
The White Sox will debut the new uniforms during Cactus League play on February 20, 2026, against the Chicago Cubs. The team will wear the jerseys for the first time in the regular season opener in Milwaukee on March 26, 2026, and again for the home opener against Toronto on April 2, 2026, at Rate Field.
CME Group, known for enabling clients to trade futures, options, cash, and OTC markets, is expanding into new markets and client segments, particularly in retail. This partnership with the White Sox aligns with their strategic goals of reaching broader and younger audiences. The collaboration is expected to enhance brand visibility and engagement, leveraging the White Sox’s increasing viewership and the league’s record revenue.
